With Suzanne Perry of Love Spirals Downwards on vocals and former members of The Von Trapps amongst the talented musicians, Melodyguild is a refreshing burst on to the Ethereal Dreampop scene. It seems that Blip-Pop isn't the only genre capable of splicing together an album through the US Postal Service. Members from Portland, Seattle and LA sent their 'Wall of Sound' guitars and layered vocal tracks back and forth to compile their full-length debut, Always, Sometimes, Seldom, Never. Conceived by the masterminds behind Twee-Pop label Shelflife, home to bands like Club 8, Radio Dept, Brittle Stars, The Arrogants and Acid House Kings, Tears Run Rings bring a melodic pop sensibility to their rich, Shoegaze soundscapes.

Until now, the French-Electrogaze of M83 (aka Anthony Gonzalez) was known for it's gloomy ambience. On his latest, and perhaps greatest release, Saturdays =Youth, Gonzalez tries to capture the era of his teens, with influences from the 80's sounds of Cocteau Twins, Tears For Fears and even John Hughes' films. Underscoring this theme is the album's standout single, Graveyard Girl, which echoes the thoughts of a young Goth girl; ""The cemetery is my home, I want to be a part of it, invisible even to the night…I'm 15 years old and I feel it's already too late to live. Don't you?" The album features production work from Ken Thomas (Sigur Ros, Sugarcubes, Cocteau Twins, Suede and Ewan Pearson (Tracey Thorn, The Rapture, Ladytron.

The lush electronic sound on Elsiane's debut Hybrid is the result of a collaboration between vocalist Elsieanne Caplette and drummer Stephane Sotto upon her arrival in Montreal from Peru. The two combine their influences of classical music, jazz, rock and electronic music with a pop sensibility that makes Hybrid a gorgeous listen. Check out the single, Vaporous.

Produced by Tearwave's Doug White, The Daysleepers have delivered on their long awaited full-length debut, Drowned In A Sea Of Sound. The appropriately named record, is the follow up to a pair of EP's The Soft Attack and Hide Your Eyes that won over critics and fans alike. Their sound is a mix of Dreampop, Shoegaze, Post-Punk and New Wave...think The Cure, Cocteau Twins, The Chameleons and Slowdive.

Jason Pierce's (aka Jason Spaceman) sixth record under the Spiritualized moniker was quite literally, nearly the death of him. He battled a wicked bout of Pneumonia and Respiratory Failure that landed him in the Accident and Emergency ward (A&E) of the Royal London Hospital. The record, thus named A&E continues his exploration of Space Rock, Gospel. Blues and Psychedelia. The First single is Soul On Fire.

The Trio of Beth Gibbons, Geoff Barrow and Adrian Utley have reformed for their first album together in over a decade. Third is not your older brother's Portishead record, however. Gone are the beats of the Triphop genre they helped to define. They have re-emerged with a rawer, industrial and initially least accessible sound. Critics and fans have embraced it nonetheless, as Third entered the UK Album Chart at #2, and became their first U.S. Top 10 album on the Billboard 200, reaching #7 in the week of its release.

Coldplay is certainly not shying away from their oft-received U2 comparisions. In fact they garnered Brian Eno (The Unforgettable Fire, Achtung Baby, All That You Can't Leave Behind) to produce their 4th album, Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends. The band released Violet Hill as a free download, followed by Viva La Vida backed by a massive iTunes campaign, mirroring the promotion of U2's Vertigo.
